What to expect: Casual comfort is the rule here, as couples come to relax, sun, swim, and eat and drink whenever suits them. Only Salvatore restaurant has a dress code, and that's not rigorous. The resort's entertainment staff organizes optional games and activities on the beach and around the main pool. Amenity highlights: Guests sun beside two pools above the beach. The good-size main pool comes with a volleyball net and is surrounded by a sunning terrace overlooking the sea. The Quiet Pool, a medium-size triangle, is isolated away from activity and music and has its own sundeck. A popular feature is the large, L-shaped spa, which includes a non-jetted section under a wide waterfall, allowing guests to enjoy a waterfall massage. The postcard-perfect, white-sand beach in front of the hotel offers thatched-roof palapas for shelter from the brilliant sun. Insider tip: As part of their All-Inclusive Plan, guests are entitled to use pools and beaches and dine and drink in restaurants and bars at all six other Palace Resorts: at the Moon Palace south of Cancún Island; and at two Palace Resorts on the Riviera Maya, Xpu-Ha Palace and Aventura Spa Palace, about 50 miles south of Cancún. Transportation, however, is not provided. Beach Palace and Cancun Palace are also on the Cancun hotel zone.
